IBM agreement with International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) More Details...

Chennai: Software major IBM has entered into an agreement with International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Bangalore, for collaboration in research initiatives. Scholars from IBM's Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS), Bangalore, will deliver technical lectures in the IIIT. Experts from IIIT will also lecture in the CAS. The institutes will also exchange guidance programmes for research students and aim to solve research problems of common interest, a company statement said. Under this programme, fellowships will be offered to PhD students from the institute who will work with the developers and researchers at IBM India Software Lab. Selected members of IIIT-Bangalore faculty will be permitted to work as IBM CAS Visiting Scientist' and IBM CAS Academic Fellow.' "With the partnership, IBM and industry developers will take up a fresh approach towards solving their problems. "Institute faculty will get the opportunity to tackle challenges in the commercial world," said Amol Mahamuni, Program Director, University Relations, IBM India.
