Medical entrance exams

NEET for medical will be held from this year itself – SC

Supreme Court has given decision today in favor of NEET implementation from this year itself. Medical entrance exam in our country is not standard and there were many scams being reported in past few years on state level. To overcome this mess in Medical admission system Supreme court has decided to implement the NEET common test across India to standardize Medical admission process.

Supreme Court on Thursday has approved for National Eligibility Cum Entrance (NEET) exam to be held in the current academic session itself. The apex court also rejected request of state governments and private colleges that NEET should not be applicable on them.

The All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) scheduled for May 1 will be treated as first round of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). For students, who have not applied for AIPMT will be given opportunity to appear in round two on July 24. The combined result will be declared on August 17, in order to complete the admission process by September 30 — a deadline set by the apex court in its previous orders. Around 6.5 lakh students are likely to appear for the entrance exams. “We further clarify that notwithstanding any order passed by any Court earlier with regard to not holding NEET, this order shall operate. Therefore, no further order is required to be passed at this stage,” the bench said.

National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) launch this year

Supreme Court gave a green signal to National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), a common medical entrance test for admissions to MBBS, BDS and PG courses, which was discarded in 2013.

Medical Council of India (MCI) is not in favour of conducting the test this year due to time constraints and preparation problems.

Maharashtra Government has requested the Indian Medical Council (IMC) not to conduct the admissions to medical and dental courses through the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and instead continue with MH-CET for this year because NEET needs to be based on CBSE syllabus and for that HSC syllabus need to be upgraded.

In 2013, NEET was conducted and admissions were being conducted in medical colleges based on the NEET. Later Christian Medical College, Vellore, requested in  SC and NEET scrapped, so in 2014 and 2015 the admissions in Maharashtra had been done via MH-CET.

NEET is required because Medical admission process acros India should be uniform through a common test. Few weeks back , AMU (Aligarh Muslim University)  conducted its medical entrance. And, states of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have always been against the NEET. As there are less coaching opportunities in the state, people in Tamil Nadu want the admissions to be based on “Class 12 marks and 69 percent reservation after giving 15 percent of the seats to the all-India quota.

Many of the Private medical colleges are against NEET because they dont want to give up the right of admission based on the marks there are more opportunity of getting donations  if admissions has been done based on  some local exams. As well as more chances are there in cheating at all levels if exam is being conducted locally to state city or university. Thats why whole country’s institutes are scared of NEET.

But right now NEET for this year will be difficult to conduct as time is less and dates would be around May.

Planning to change MP Pre Medical Test to keep away Munna Bhais

MP PMT was scam tainted last year due to one of top official was corrupt in vyapam and many admissions had been done through impersonation.

We have all watched the movie Munna Bhai and seen what one wrong entrance through impersonation at the pre-medical entrance examinations can do.In Madhya Pradesh there are many such Munna Bhais are selecting every year while many meritorious students have been deprived of their admissions.

Keeping in view the various scams occurred last year in the MP Pre-Medical Test (MPPMT) examinations, the Director of Medical Education Madhya Pradesh has decided to conduct medical entrance tests in the state through other organization instead of state’s Professional Examination Board (Vyapam).

The director said that they have decided to conduct MBBS and BDS Entrance Examination through CBSE and the MDS entrance test through AIIMS from next year onwards. The proposal regarding this was on the talk, said a release.

The Director of MP Medical Education said that MPPMT has been caught up with scams from the last few years, and this year, i.e., in 2013, a number of students were found guilty and disqualified in the exam after checking their copies.

Cases against those guilty students have already been filed with the High Court, and the decision on their fate is yet to come.

The Director of Medical Education Madhya Pradesh, has plan to conduct Pre-Medical Test exams through other agencies instead of Professional Examination Board (Vyapam as MP Pre-Medical Test (MP PMT) examinations riddled with too many scams

This year MBBS and BDS Examination Test for Madhya Pradesh students will be conduted through the All Indian Pre-Medical test (AIPMT) which would be conducted by the CBSE and the MDS Test Exam through the AIIMS exam from next year (i.e. 2014 – 2015 session) and talks were going on in this regard, a release said.

In the last few years MP PMT has been continuously tainted due to vyapam. There were scams and a number of students were found guilty and disqualified after checking their copies for 2013 medical test Examination. The students who were found guilty in the scam and disqualified for admission.
