Beginning from June 5, 2012, the GMAT exam will measure student’s ability to solve problems of Integrated Reasoning.

The new Integrated Reasoning section of the GMAT exam will contain 12 questions.

Section Format

This section will be multiple choice section.
The 30-minute Integrated Reasoning section will consist of 12 questions in four new formats.

4 types of questions will be part of integrated reasoning.

Graphics Interpretation: Interpret the graph or graphical image and select the option from a drop-down list to make the answer statements accurate.Need to analyze graphs.

Two-Part Analysis: Select one answer from each column to solve a problem with a two-part solution. Possible answers will be presented in a table with a column for each part.

Table Analysis: Sort the table to organize the data so you can determine whether certain conditions are met. Each question will have statements with opposing answers (e.g., yes/no, true/false, inferable/not inferable); select one answer for each statement.

Multi-Source Reasoning: Click on the page to reveal different data and discern which data you need to answer the question.

New GMAT FORMAT

GMAT exam will be of same time as 3 hours 30 Minutes as past.

Just analytical reasoning section will be now only 30 minutes which was of 60 minutes in past.

New integrated reasoning section will take 30 minutes of analytical reasoning section.

CBSE conducted the  the All India Pre Medical/Pre Dental entrance examination for admission in medical and dental colleges across india.This is a Preliminary examination which was held on 1-04-2012.Student have to pass this exam for appearing in  real medical exam which is going to held in may 2012. candidates who qualified in pre exam will be eligible for final examination. final examination result will be declare on the first week of june 2012. so after that counselling process will be start for college allotment.

This year in All India Pre-medical/Pre-dental Test (AIPMT) only 12 per cent of candidates qualifying. Last year, about 13 per cent candidates had cleared the preliminary medical exam. The successful students will now have to appear for the final exam on May 13.

This year 2,75,742 candidates had registered for the exam but only 2,57,960 candidates appeared. Of those who did appear, only 30,788 qualified for the AIPMT final exams. Girls just about edged the boys in the overall tally this year with 15,620 (out of 30,788) of them clearing the exam.

This exam is being conducted for the 15 per cent quota in government medical colleges. In Maharashtra the remaining seats will be filled through the MHT-CET exam slated for next month.

GMAT is loosing in India the most popular exams of management students – the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) – is loosing its space India with 25,394 students sitting for the exam in 2011, while Chinese students are looking forward for this exam now with 40,069 candidates in the same year.

GMAT has been favorite ticket to a US college, a career and a green card, GMAT seems to have lost some of its appeal in India, where 30,633 applicants took the test in 2009. While the numbers are dropping in India, management hopefuls surged in China recording a 200% jump from 13,048 in 2007.

In 2007, India was ahead with 21,481 applicants. The numbers went up marginally over the next two years and have been sliding since then. This, when more applicants in the 25-30 age group are opting for the exam, according to the Asian Geographical Trend Report for GMAT examinees, collated and analyzed by the Graduate Management Admission Council that conducts the test. The percentage of those younger than 25 among Chinese applicants rose from 48% in 2007 to 77% in 2011. For India, that figure was 34% last year, down from 36% in 2007.

Reason for this can be better colleges opening in India as well as better job opportunities surging all over India.Where as in china situation is same or worst.As well as GRE and TOEFL are big challenge for GMAT

The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2012 for admission to MBA, MCA and M.E / M.Tech / M.Arch / M.Plan degree programmes will be conducted on March 31 and April 1.

Students who have registered via internet and have not received the hall ticket yet have to produce evidence for registration and bring a certificate from the heads of institution last studied or from a Gazetted A or B officer of the Central or State governments.

Social networking Giant Facebook visited the IIT Delhi last week and hired ankur dahiya for annual package of 65 lakhs.

Ankur is only 21 years old and its like dream come true for him.

Most of the engineering courses are of 4 years and full time MBA courses are of 2 years.A student spend 6 years to read all those books without getting any practical knowledge.

From the next academic year, VIT University in Vellore will offer two major subjects in its BTech programme. Students will have the option of pursuing regular engineering majors or study an engineering subject as the first major and a management subject as the second. “This is done in response to industry’s need for engineers with strong additional background in management subjects. Many engineers become project managers in 10 years. This course could reduce the time significantly while equipping them with skills to get on the job soon.To get a BTech degree with two majors, students will have to take 10 extra subjects in human resources, marketing, finance or general management. The students opting for two majors can still complete the degree programme in four years.

CMAT examination was conducted online and received a good response from students and colleges alike.

Attendance of 83% was recorded all over India across the 61 cities and 68 centers over the 9 day period.

The scores will be based on overall merit, quantitative section, logical reasoning questions, comprehension, and general knowledge questions.

CMAT will release individual scores of these sections, which can be viewed by candidates as well as institutes who have registered CMAT to consider its scores for admissions.

Commenting on the glitch-free tests, Aptech CEO & MD, Ninad Karpe said, “We are happy that the process went as smooth as expected and we have received a positive response from all corners.

In a initiative targetting impersonation and cheating, the CUSAT university has invited bids from companies to implement the biometric student identification for CAT for this institute. The move comes in the wake of increasing number of imposters appearing for CAT in its previous editions.

A device with a fingerprint scanner, camera and barcode reader will check malpractice and proxy attendance for the first time in the nation-wide Common Admission Test (CAT) to be conducted by the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) on May 5 and 6.

In this way if any other person comes to give exam of some one else.He will be caught immidiately.It will surely trouble the appearents who have been plannning to spend their money to spend someone else to face the exam.

Officials involved in the process told The Hindu that biometric student identification is expected to curb impersonations in nearly 85 centres in the State and outside this time.

Fingerprint data will be collected from all the candidates appearing for CAT. The university had earlier considered a proposal to limit the verification process to candidates writing the exam in centres outside the State, but later dropped it fearing that it would invite criticism from various quarters.

Volunteers will take the small device to each candidate half-an-hour before the commencement of the examination at a centre. They will capture the left and right ring finger prints as well as take a photograph of each candidate. There will be one machine each for 40 students in a classroom.

The device will have time stamps for every authentication action and the data will be stored in a high-security data centre. The expected cost per candidate for the biometric identification process is about Rs.60, sources said.

The captured data will be stored for verification and authentication of candidates at subsequent stages of the admission process. Officials pointed out that the data would be re-checked only after the completion of the seat allotment process, as the chances of the impersonator himself appearing for the counselling were high.

About 33,000 students had appeared for CAT last year. In 2010, the number was 30,000. Cusat has a high number of students from outside the State for their B.Tech courses.

Institute of Management Technology (IMT) has decided to accept CMAT scores for their Nagpur and Hydrabad campuses for 2012. However, admission to the Ghaziabad campus will still be taken on the basis of CAT scores.GD-PI for the Ghaziabad campus is scheduled for February 1.

Department of Management Studies (DMS), Indian Institute of Technology,GD PI would be conducted on March 23-26, while the final results will be announced a month later on April 25. The application registration date of the institute started on January 13 and will continue till the 27th,

TA Pai Management Institute, application registration dates from January 15 to February 15 (as XAT results will be announced by the end of this month), TAPMI Manipal. The GD-PI round will commence after February 25 and will be completed by the end of March, The institute will not be accepting CMAT

Mudra Institute of Communication (MICA) in Ahmedabad first week of April. The application submission deadline for the institute is January 30. MICA that also holds its own admission test, the Mudra Institute of Communication Admission Test (MICAT), scheduled to take place either in the last week of February or the first week of March this year, will not accept CMAT scores this year.

School of Management (VGSoM), IIT, Kharagpur, ranked 25th, started accepting applications from December 27, 2011. The final date for accepting applications by the institute is January 27. Their GD-PI sessions are scheduled in four places. In Mumbai, they will take place from March 9 to 12, in Kolkata from 20 to 22 March, in Delhi from 27 to 30 March and in Bangalore from April 3 to 6. The institute will not be accepting CMAT scores this year.

IIT Kanpur’s Industrial and Management Engineering (IME probably schedule interview round in the last week of March.The institute has extended the last date for application submission from January 27 to February 3 due to some problem in its website.

CBSE is going to conduct AIEEE offline version on 29th April 2012 and AIEEE online version for admission to BE/BTech is going to be conducted from May 7 to 26 2012.

The online AIEEE going to be held in 22 cities including Delhi, Chandigarh, Allahabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kolkata and Bangalore.

The last date for registration for AIEEE online is December 31. This year, CBSE will provide mock tests for the candidates appearing online on its website from the last week of December.
